Get Your Bar Ready for Summer with the Quarter 2 Curation

We have been counting down the days to warmer weather and our Q2 curation!

In this curation we were able to offer our first Sip+Tipple regional exclusive, Birdie Brown Plain Hooch. Unlike our grandpa’s hooch, Birdie Brown is not harsh on the palate, and although it has some heat, it does not set your throat on fire. We were happily surprised by the taste and really enjoyed sipping it on the rocks. It’s going to make some delicious cocktails.

We were introduced to Guidance Whiskey last year during the Black-Owned Wine & Spirits Festival. The moment we tasted it we knew that we had to have it in one of our early curations. The whiskey is light and smooth, perfect for sipping on the rocks. We loved it so much that we shared it with guests during our soft launch party late last year.

Tom Bullock’s Old Tom Gin can also be enjoyed on the rocks or as an ingredient in your own curated cocktail. A twist on a classic cocktail, this spirit is named in honor of Tom Bullock, a famous pre-prohibition bartender and the first Black American bartender to publish a cocktail manual. We snagged a reprint of his book last month and will be sharing some of his curations on social soon.

Our first curation did not include a rum, so we wanted to make sure we included one this time. Equiano Light Rum is a fusion of ingredients from the Caribbean and Africa. The brand blends ingredients from the two continents at two different distilleries to make its exceptional rums.

Last, but definitely not least, we have T. Capri Reposado! Due to supply chain issues the local woman-owned brand has been off shelves since last year. As soon as it became available, we placed an order. We are excited to be able to share it with our members.

Sip+Tipple members will make their selections from their personal recommendation list in the coming days, for an early June delivery. Just in time to bring in the summer heat with their very owned chilled cocktails.
